Well I'm a Ninny...
Oregon Part the Second could not have been more fun. I can't believe I was so freaked out about going. Really, it was quite ridiculous and maybe I will move there some day.
And now, for the photo tour:
Wedding 1: Nicholas and Sarah Soll. I love these two. The wedding was very nice, untraditional, and totally them. For example, the donut wedding cake:
I had a great time since this was the first time I got to see Alex since arriving in Oregon being that he was busy with Bachelor parties and other Best Man duties.
In non-chronological order, Wedding TWO!
Alex and Jeff Walker!!! More loves!
Their wedding was a bit more traditional, but still very fitting to the couple. It had an Alice and Wonderland theme which is so very Alex.
And! I finally got to dance with my Alex!!!! It was very exciting. Pretty much, I love him. A lot.
I also got the opportunity to tag along to the bachelorette party for Alex Walker. We all wore multi-colored wigs and it was my favorite thing ever.
We went out to eat at the Macaroni Grill in downtown Portland and then to Darcelle X which as you might be able to see, was a drag show. OH. MY. GOD. It was soooooo good! Way funny, way entertaining. I love it!
So, other fun highlights of the trip include Alex's and my mini-vaca to the Oregon Coast! YAY!
Ahhhhh! Isn't it gorgeous?! AND IT'S THE OCEAN! Needless to say, I freaked out when I saw it because I'm from MN and never get to.
We spent most of the day hiking through the Cascade range, then because he knows I get giddy about the ocean Alex took me to the beach and I "swam" in the water until I realized that it was waaaaaaaay too cold and also jellyfish season. From there as we were driving down the coast we drove past this small cozy little motel and when we saw the sign advertising for $50 a night, we were sold! We decided to stay which was really nice because then it really felt like a vacation and I haven't had one of those since I was 10. He also took me out to dinner and made me try clam chowder which was scary since I don't like seafood... BUT! I like clam chowder! Yay!
In between fun events, I got to hang out with his family too. I spent a lot of time with his mom and with his twin nieces, Ellie and Emma who are ADORABLE. See:
I also got to bond a lot more with his friends than I did in January. Our last night in town we went to Vogies, the local dive, and had more fun than I have ever had on a night out before in my life.
We danced, we sang karaoke, we smooched, we bonded.
Honestly, it was just so nice and refreshing to have a big group of friends again. I felt like I fit right in, and I haven't felt that way in a long time. I can't wait to go back.
Later days, more Oregonian nonsense.
