The Traveling Death and Resurrection Show
So I am officially brilliant. I'm killing time by reading because I miss reading for enjoyment, and I have come up with an excellent use for this old thing. I always highlight phrases in the books I read that I like. I'm nerdy like that... but I'm going to keep track of them here.
The Book of Choice: The Traveling Death and Resurrection Show by Ariel Gore
*You're given a mythology in the life, the way you're given a body, a family, a country. You can reject it if you like -- starve it, laugh in its face, run away into exile -- but it's still your mythology. There's always the chance for redemption.
*Sometimes when I walk through the rain, I know that each drop that falls on me wasn't meant to fall on anybody else. Other times I take an umbrella to shield myself from the randomness.
*Maybe God was really hungover the morning he stumbled out of bed and created me.
*I'm from the place where you stand onwhat you think is ground and then they pull it out from under you like a cheap IKEA rug.
